Getting to the workspace, and how to make your own laptop something an Agent can work on.

Runva runs in your browser, so there's nothing you have to install to start. Sign in and you're in the workspace.

The Mac app is worth having anyway, and it's the only way to do one thing you may want.

What the Mac app adds

  • Your own machine as a Computer. Your laptop becomes something you can assign an Agent to, so it works in your shell, on your files, and in browser tabs that open inside Runva. It's always on and never billed.
  • Notifications that reach you. The Mac's own, rather than a browser tab you have to leave open.

Everything else is the same workspace either way. The app is a window onto the same Runva, not a different product.

Install it

  1. Download it from the link on runva.ai. It's built for Apple silicon Macs.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Runva to Applications.
  3. Open Runva. If macOS asks you to confirm, choose Open.

The app updates itself. macOS only for now, and there's no Windows or Linux build yet.

Sign in with your email and password. Runva is in private testing, so new accounts open by invitation for now. The app and the browser share the same account and the same workspace, so it doesn't matter which you started in.

Offer your machine to your agents

This one is only in the Mac app.

  1. Open Computers in the sidebar.
  2. Find the panel naming your machine and choose Add this computer.
  3. Assign an Agent to it from that Agent's settings, or from the Computer itself.

Your machine now appears alongside any cloud Computers you have. It's connected whenever the app is running, and Agents assigned to it wait when it isn't. Stop offering this machine on the same panel takes it back.

Runva stores the credential identifying your machine in the system keychain. On a system with no keychain it uses a file only your account can read, and tells you it's doing that.

We’re not ready yet.

Runva is still being built. This is coming soon.
